Potato Dumplings Recipe

Have you Ever prepared potato dumplings at home? If not, try this easy and tasty Potato Dumplings Recipe, prepared just with potatoes, eggs , and parmesan mixture and garnished with melted butter. The dumplings are one of the most well-known preparations as consisting in a very simple preparation, and at the same time are a very heart dish, suitable for any kind of seasonings and can be prepared with different flours: wheat flour, rice flour, potatoes, dried bread or different vegetables.

4 - large potatoes

230g - all-purpose flour

1 - egg

30g - grated parmesan cheese

130g - butter

- 3-4 freshly sage leaves

- salt and pepper to taste


Bring a large pot of abundant salted water to a boil and cook patatoes, not peeled for about 20 min, or until tender. Drain, peel and mash the patatoes. Place all in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper, add 200 g flour, the egg and the grated Parmesan cheese and mix attentionally. Knead the dough in a lightly floured surface until smooth and no longer sticky. Form as many dumplings as you can(about 4 cm each) and carefully drop them in boiled salted water. Cook until the dumplings rise to the top. Drain and garnish with the heated butter. Garnish with the sage leaves. Serve immediately. If you prefer you can serve them with a good beef ragu.
