Polenta Recipe


Polenta is a typical Italian dish, called as "poor food" is the base for many other recipes, thanks to its semplicity and tasty. Contrary to what many of us think, you can not only prepare polenta with corn flour, but it can be prepared with a variety of cereals and even with chestnuts. It can be accompanied with various sauces, cheeses, meat, etc. Polenta Recipe is the traditional way to cook and prepare polenta.

INGREDIENTS


500g - yellow cornmeal

2 litres - water

1 - tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

- salt to taste.


DIRECTIONS


Bring a large casserole with 2 l cold water to a boil and season with salt. When water boils pour polenta, stirring constantly for about 40 minutes. Continue to stir till polenta come away from sides of the casserole. Cook for other 20 minutes, because more polenta cooks more tasty is. When it is thickness and supports a spoon, remove from fire. Pour polenta into a wooden cutting board and let stand for some minutes. Serve warm.
