Traditional Spaghetti alla Puttanesca Recipe

Traditional Spaghetti alla Puttanesca Recipe is a first pasta dish, prepared with typical Sourthen Italian ingredients, such as tomatoes, olives, olive oli capers and garlic. This is an easy and healthy spaghetti dish, famous all over the world for its freshness and mediterranean taste.

500 g - spaghetti

500 g - ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped

100 g - black chopped olives

2 - tablespoons salted capers, drained

12 - salted anchovy fillets

2 - garlic cloves

7 - tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 - chili pepper, seeded and minced

- freshly chopped parsley

- salt to taste


Place a saucepan over medium heat, pour the oil, heat and add the garlic and the chili pepper. Brown for 1-2 minutes, add the anchovy fillets and cook for 3 minutes, add the olives, the capers, the tomatoes and cook all over low heat for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile the sauce cooks prepare the spaghetti. Bring to the boil a large pot with abundant salted water. When it boils add the spaghetti and cook AL DENTE, or according to the packet instructions. Drain the pasta well, toss in with the sauce and cook for 1 minute over high heat, so all the ingredients will be incorporated with the pasta. Check the seasoning, place all in a warm serving bowl and serve immediately. Garnish with the chopped parsley.
