INGREDIENTS


500g - all - purpose flour

1 - tablespoon freshly rosemary, finely chopped

1 - tablespoon freshly sage, finely chopped

75g - walnuts, finely chopped

25g - fresh yeast or 17 g dry active yeast ( 2 packages )

1 1/2 - cup warm milk

2 - eggs

4 - tablespoons butter (scaled)

1/2 - cup warm water

- extra virgin olive oil

- flour to powder

- salt


DIRECTIONS


In a bowl dissolve the yeast with the milk and let stand until it is spongy (10 minutes). Then in a large warm mixing bowl mix the white flour with salt, add the beaten eggs, pepper, sage, rosemary, the mixture (milk and yeast) and gradually add the warm water. Mix all with a wooden spoon and after that lay out the dough into a floured working surface and knead for about 10 minutes ,or until the dough results smooth and elastic. Put the dough in an oiled bowl and turn once to cover with oil. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it stand in a warm place for 1 h and 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size. Passing the leaving time knead the dough again for some seconds, incorporating the chopped walnuts and shape into a loaf. Place in a buttered or in an oiled loaf pan and set in a warm place, until it double in size, about 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200° C and bake at 180° C for 40 minutes, or until the loaf is brown, but not burned. Turn out to cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.
