Corn Sandwiches Recipe


Corn Sandwiches Recipe is one of the simplest and healthiest bread recipe, perfect as an afternoon snack or served as a finger food for a special occasion.

INGREDIENTS


300g - all

100g - fine corn flour

25g - dry active yeast

2 - cups lukewarm water

1 - tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

- white flour to powder

- salt to taste


DIRECTIONS


Mix the warm water, the dry active yeast and 1 teaspoon olive oil in a cup. Pour the white flour, corn flour and some salt in a large bowl, adding the yeast and mix well all the ingredients forming a a smooth dough. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let sit for 2 hours. Then, lay out in a lightly floured surface and knead with your hands for about 5 minutes. Divide the dough in 16 equal sandwiches and set all in a baking hob, covered with a baking sheet. With a serrated knife make some small parallel engravings. Cover with a towel and let set for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 180° C. Sprinkle the sandwiches with a little water to keep them soft and bake for 35 minutes, or until golden. Having baking the corn sandwiches let them cool on a wire rack before serving
