Looking for an easy, fast and fresh appetizer recipe? Easy Tuscan Appetizer Recipe is perfect, because it is prepared with really simple ingredients, which almost all of us have in their house. You need just some salami finely slices, fresh tomatoes, bread, olive oil and herbs. You can substitute salami slices with Parma ham, fish, veal cutlet, chicken, etc. The secret of this recipe is not to use fresh bread, but it must be prepared 2-3 days before.

6 - bread slices

4 - red ripe tomatoes

- finely salami slices

- fresh basil leaves

- dried or fresh oregano

- dried or fresh thyme

2 - garlic cloves, peeled and chopped

- extra virgin olive oil

- salt and ground black pepper to taste


First of all we prepare tomato herbs mixture, in order to marinate as you toast bread cubes. Clean, wash and dice tomatoes. Place in a medium bowl, add all the finely chopped herbs, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and let them marinate as you toast bread. Cut bread slices into small cubes, place into a large frying pan, pour 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and place over medium heat. Cook for some minutes and add the garlic, it serves to flavor the diced bread and season with salt. Continue to toast for just 3-4 other minutes, until lightly brown and remove from pan. Place the marinated herbs diced tomatoes in a serving bowl, add the toasted diced bread and mix well to combine. Serve into individual serving plate with some salami finely slices and some fresh basil leaves.
