Cheese Basket Appetizer Recipe

Looking for a tasty and elegant cheese appetizer recipe? Try this Cheese Basket Appetizer Recipe, a special finger food prepared with cheese, peas, walnuts and honey, an original alternative to the classic cheese with pears.

300g - grated Parmesan cheese

4 - pears

40g - pecorino cheese

60g - chopped walnuts

4 - tablespoons honey

- freshly rocket or baby salad

- extra virgin olive oil

- salt and pepper to taste


Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sprinkle cheese into a circle shape, using more cheese in the centre and less around the edges. Cook until cheese becomes lighlty golden, then remove carefully with a spatula. Remove quickly Parmesan disk, golden side up, over un upde-down bowl or chilled finger food and press gently to take the concave shape required for filling. Form so a Parmesan Basket. Allow to cool. Repeat with the remaining Parmesan cheese and let cool all the four baskets. Once cooled remove from molds, distribuite some freshly arugula leaves, add in each Pecorino cheese, the cubed pears, the chopped walnuts, some extra virgin olive oil, season with salt and pepper and at the end sprinkle with the honey, as you prefer.
